We currently hold 3 Green Flags in the areas of ‘Litter and Waste’, ‘Energy’ and ‘Water’. We are a proud Green School! We are in the first year of work towards our fourth green flag for Travel.

We have a Green Schools Committee who meet regularly. Our Green School Leaders report back to their class and make sure that everyone is trying their best to conserve energy within the school. We have a checklist in every classroom and signs up to remind us to close the doors, turn off the lights when they are not needed and to close the windows. We must also remember to switch off all the switches before we go home. We also make sure that our rubbish is sorted correctly and we compost all our food waste in the our compost bin. We are very proud of how clean our school grounds are and we pick up any litter that we find. 

For the next two years, our focus will be on greener ways to travel and to try to decrease the school’s carbon footprint in this area. It began with a walkability audit on 14 October 2019 to assess how safe it is for children to walk to and from school.
